# Adding Students to Trial Classes

## Book trial classes for students from the student profile or class planner

You can book students into trial classes as an admin or staff member in two ways:

- From the **Student Profile**
- From the **Class Planner**

### When to Use Each Method

- **Use the student profile** when booking one student at a time
- **Use the class planner** when booking a trial multiple students into the same class more efficiently

### Option 1: Book a Trial from the Student Profile

1. Go to `Members` **→** `Students` 
     - Or use the **global search bar**
2. Select the **student profile**
3. Click `Trials`
4. Click `Add`
5. Complete the form: 
     - Select the **season/term**
     - Select the **class**
     - Select the **trial date**
6. Click `Save`

### Option 2: Book a Trial from Class Planner

You can book a trial in two ways from the Class Planner:

#### From the Trials page

1. Go to `Class Planner` **→** `Trials`
2. Click `Add Trial Students` (or the `+`icon on mobile)
3. In the form: 
     - Select the **season/term**
     - Select the **class**
     - Select the **date**
     - Select the **student(s)**
4. Click `Save`

#### From the Class page

1. Go to `Class Planner` **→ select a season/term → select a class**
2. In the Trials section, click: 
     - The `+` icon or `Add Trial Students` option
3. In the form: 
     - Select the **date**
     - Select the **student(s)**
4. Click `Save`

### What Happens Next

#### Paid trials

- An **order is created automatically**
- The family receives a **booking confirmation email** with: 
    - Trial details
    - Class name
    - Date
    - Price
- They can click a link to log in and pay the order

You can also manage the payment manually by opening the order and choosing to:

- Charge the **card on file**
- Apply **credit**
- Record a **manual payment**

#### Free trials

- An order is automatically created and will have a balance of $0
- Families will receive a booking confirmation
- The trial appears directly in the family’s portal

Once saved, the trial will appear in the class schedule and in the student’s profile for easy tracking and management.
