Setting Up the Registration Forms

Add custom questions to your family and student registration forms

You can customise the questions families answer when they:

  • Register for a family account
  • Create student profiles

This allows you to collect additional information during registration, such as medical details, referral sources, emergency contacts, and more.

You can:

  • Add existing custom fields to registration forms
  • Create new custom fields directly from the form setup
  • Reorder fields using drag and drop
  • Remove fields from forms at any time

ℹ️ If you add new fields after families have already registered, families will be prompted to complete the new questions the next time they log into the family portal.


Open Registration Form Settings

  1. Go to Settings from the left menu
  2. Under Forms and custom fields, select Registration forms

You’ll see two separate forms you can customise:

  • Family registration form
  • Student registration form

Customising the Family Registration Form

Add Fields to the Form

  1. Select Family registration form
  2. Click Add (or the + icon on mobile)

You’ll see:

  • Suggested predefined fields based on common registration questions
  • Any existing custom fields you’ve already created

You can either:

  • Select an existing field
  • Or click Create to make a new custom field

Create a New Custom Field

When creating a field, complete the following:

  • Question
    Example: How did you hear about us?
  • Answer type
    Choose from:
    • Short text
    • Long text
    • Number
    • Date
    • Select one
    • Select multiple
    • Checkbox
  1. Click Save
  2. Select the fields you want to include
  3. Click Add

Reorder Fields

You can drag and drop fields to change the order they appear on the registration form.

ℹ️ The following fields are always required and cannot be removed:

  • Name (for both family and student profiles)
  • Phone number (for family)
  • Email address and password for the family’s main account login

Customising the Student Registration Form

The process is the same for the student registration form:

  1. Return to the Registration forms page
  2. Select Student registration form
  3. Add, create, remove, or reorder fields as needed

Removing Custom Fields

You can remove fields from registration forms at any time.

If you delete a custom field entirely from the Custom Fields Settings page, it will also be removed from any registration forms using it.

A confirmation message will appear before deletion is completed.


What Families Will See

When families register or create students, they’ll be asked to complete the questions you’ve added to the form.

If new fields are added later, families will be prompted to answer them the next time they log into the family portal.


Custom registration forms help you collect the information you need upfront, making enrolment and student management easier for both staff and families.
