Setting Up the Self Check-In Kiosk

Let families check students in for their lessons using a QR code

The Self Check-In Kiosk allows families to check students in when they arrive at your studio. A QR code can be displayed on a tablet, TV, laptop, or computer at your venue for families to scan and check in for their lessons.

The QR code changes automatically at midnight each day. If someone scans an old QR code, they'll be notified that the code has changed.

📝 The classes students are checking into must have a location or venue assigned. This allows Class Manager to identify the correct check-in location.

  1. Go to Settings from the left-hand menu.
  2. Select Self Check-In.
  3. Find the location you want to set up and click Show Code.
  4. A Setup Code will appear. Scan this code using the tablet or other device you want to use as the check-in screen. The Setup Code doesn't expire, so the device can continue to be used as your check-in screen.
  5. Alternatively, you can copy the provided link and open it on another mobile, tablet, TV, laptop, or computer.

Once the check-in screen is set up, families can use it to check students in when they arrive.

How Families Check In

When a family arrives:

  1. They scan the displayed QR code using their phone's camera.
  2. Class Manager opens the Self Check-In page.
  3. They can select and check in the student for their lesson.

📝 Families only have access to the check-in page and cannot navigate to your Class Manager account.

Keep Attendance Up to Date

Self check-in records the student as present, but teachers can still update their attendance during the lesson.

For example, if a student checks in but doesn't attend the lesson, the teacher can change their attendance from Present to Absent.
