Creating a Class
A step-by-step guide to creating classes in Class Manager, including scheduling, pricing, and enrollment settings.
Setting up a class in Class Manager is quick and flexible - you can create weekly classes, drop-in sessions, or private lessons depending on your needs.
Once you’ve set up your Season/Term, the next step is to create your classes. Classes are where students actually enroll, so this step brings your schedule to life!
Step 1: Go to Your Season / Term
After creating your season, you’ll land on the Season/Term page where you can see your weekly schedule.
-
To create a class on a specific day, click the
+ iconunder that day (e.g., Monday). -
Or, click the
Createbutton in the top-right corner to add a class without selecting a day first.
Step 2: Choose How to Add Your Class
You’ll see two options:
-
Start from Scratch - enter all the class details yourself.
-
Copy Existing - duplicates an existing class’s details (but not enrollment, trial, or waiting list students)
For this guide, we’ll focus on Start from Scratch.
Step 3: Enter Class Details
Basic Information (Required)
-
Name - Give your class a clear name.
Frequency & Time (Required)
-
Repeats On - Select the day(s) of the week (e.g., every Wednesday). Recurring classes will repeat weekly from the season start to end date.
-
Start Time - Set the class start time.
-
Duration - How long the class lasts.
Pricing (Required)
How you enter pricing depends on the billing structure set in your Season/Term:
If you bill By Lesson / By Month / By Season:
You’ll enter the class price right here when creating the class.
If you bill By Number of Classes / By Number of Hours:
You will NOT enter pricing in the class window.
Instead:
-
-
-
Go to your Season/Term.
-
Find the Tuition & Pricing section.
-
Click
View. -
Add your pricing tiers there.
-
-
This allows students' tuition to be calculated automatically based on their total number of classes or hours per week.
Tax Rate
If tax is enabled for your account, select the applicable tax rate at the bottom of the form. If you need to create a new tax rate, you can do so directly from the class creation form. For more information about setting up your tax configuration, see ➡️ Setting Up Tax Configuration

-
Portal enrollment - Toggle on/off to allow families to enroll through the Family Portal.
- Hide from catalog - Toggle on so the class won't appear in the Family Portal catalogue, but staff can still enrol students directly into the class. For more information. For more information, see ➡️ Hiding Classes from the Family Portal.
-
Trial - Toggle on/off to let families book trial sessions.
-
Apply global class or sibling discounts - Toggle on/off. If off, this class won’t count towards total classes or hours for discount calculations and will be billed separately.
