Starting an Individual Chat

Individual Chats let you communicate privately with a single family.

Messages and replies stay within one conversation, making it easy to keep communication organised.

Start a Chat

You can start an individual chat from the Communication section or directly from a family's profile. 

From the Communications Section

1. On the left menu, select Communication 
2. Select Chats
3. Click Create...
4. Select New chat
5. Choose New individual chat
6. Select the family
7. Write your message and press Send to start chatting

From a Family Profile

1. On the left menu, select Members 
2. Go to Families
3. Select the family you'd like to message.
4. Click the Chat icon.
5. You'll be taken directly to a conversation with that family.

What Families See

Families receive a notification when a new message arrives.

Unread messages are highlighted in the Family Portal, where they can view and reply to the conversation.

If a family receives a chat but has not yet registered for the Family Portal, they will receive an email inviting them to create an account.

Once registered, they will be able to view and respond to messages.

Additional Features

Within an individual chat you can:

• Attach images.
• React to messages with emojis.
• Schedule a message to send later.
• Pin important conversations.
• Delete conversations when they're no longer needed.
• Use AI-generated replies for faster responses.
